Virus-Related Policies for all gymnasts and their families

We will update these policies upon receipt of further guidance or as conditions change.

  • Each gymnast will be required to show up each day with a personal bag containing:

    • Water bottle

    • Hand sanitizer

    • Sweat towel

    • Conditioning mat or beach towel

    • Container for chalk which we will supply

  • We will not allow gymnasts into the gym until a few minutes before their class starts.

  • All gymnasts and visitors will have their temperatures taken with a no-touch thermometer prior to entering the gym. Anyone with a temperature of 100+ or showing other COVID symptoms will not be allowed in the gym.

  • We prefer that families drop off gymnasts and not remain in the gym. In cases where that is difficult for a family, we'll do our best to keep visitors separated and safe.

  • Visitors will not be allowed to congregate at the desk, and will be required to sit or stand at designated chairs in the sitting area which will be spaced at least 6 feet apart.

  • Attendance will be taken for all classes

  • We can not require gymnasts to wear masks as this poses a potential breathing hazard during exercise.

  • We urge gymnasts to go to the bathroom prior to coming to the gym. Bathroom visits will be limited to one person at a time.

  • All gymnasts will be required to use hand sanitizer before coming on to the floor and when moving from one apparatus to another.

  • We will schedule 15 minutes between classes so we can separate gymnasts entering and leaving the gym, and to allow staff to sanitize equipment, chairs, bathrooms, etc. Equipment that can not be sprayed (beams, bars) will be wanded with an ultra-violet wand.

  • The water fountain will be used to refill water bottles only.

  • All MGA staff will have their temperature taken with a no-touch thermometer and will complete a health questionnaire each day as they enter the gym. Any staff member with a temperature of 100+ or having any COVID symptoms will not be allowed in the gym. Staff will be provided with masks to wear while in the gym, although we can not legally force them to be worn.

Travel Policy for July

Due to the dramatically increasing numbers of positive cases of COVID 19 in so many areas of the US, MGA has made the decision to enact a policy for any of our gymnasts who travel outside of West Virginia.

In order to continue to put safety first at our gym, we are requiring that all families who go on vacation outside of West Virginia not return to class for 14 days starting the date they return from vacation. One-on-one private lessons will be available during the 14 day period.

We will credit your account for those 14 days. You can use that credit for monthly tuition, private lessons, Team Meet Fees, leotards or any other MGA expenses.
